Gallery: World Cup

Tonight, we went to see the under-17 girls’ soccer FIFA World Cup at the Amman International Stadium – USA vs. Japan!  The tickets were really cheap, so we all dressed very American and headed to the stadium to cheer on our country.  It felt so much like home to be watching sports on a chilly fall evening and singing the American national anthem.  The first goal was for our team, and the stands went totally crazy!  Towards the end though, it became clear that the Japanese team deserved the win.  We had a great time until we started getting too cold (and started hearing a lot of racist comments from behind us towards the Japanese team…..) so we left before it ended and headed home.  A great end to a nice weekend!

Also, this morning, we enjoyed an absolutely delicious breakfast at a cute cafe in honor of my roommate Ester’s birthday tomorrow – then we studied all day in our new favorite study lounge and figured out the final details for our Egypt trip…. NEXT WEEKEND!  More to come.
